Oryx uses Zoho Campaigns to connect with customers in a booming real estate market

 

The company

Oryx Doors and Windows, based in Dubai, UAE, specializes in doors and windows. Since its inception in 2011, the company has been offering a portfolio of high-quality architectural products to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Founded by Guy Dawson, the business has experienced significant growth in recent years, but continues to focus on maintaining its core values and ethos.

"As a company, we exist to make a difference in people's lives, and that includes not only our customers but also our employees, suppliers, and all our associates," said Lorna Sibanda, marketing manager at Oryx. "We aspire to be a company that endures for generations to come."

The challenge

Oryx initially relied on word-of-mouth promotion and garnered numerous referrals. They also printed pamphlets and distributed them to homes, but eventually shifted their focus to digital marketing. Oryx transitioned to using Google Ads, social media, and email marketing campaigns.

“Customers often need to be exposed to a brand multiple times before they start interacting with it or place an enquiry. We were looking for an email marketing tool, like Campaigns, to use as an additional touch point for our customers and as a remarketing tool. We needed a way to ensure that our brand remains in the minds of our target customers, even after they contact us directly.”

However, tracking the effectiveness of these campaigns proved challenging. "For instance, implementing an organic SEO effort is not a straightforward path," said Sibanda. "It's difficult to track leads. Even with social media, you can put in efforts, but it's often unclear how they translate into actual leads."

Solutions and benefits

Oryx was aware of Zoho, but the team evaluated several options before making a decision. "Previously, we used HubSpot but started exploring other options to better suit our pricing requirements," said Sibanda. "We came across various alternatives online and began comparing HubSpot with other CRM solutions." This process led Oryx to implement Zoho CRM and Campaigns.

Today, Zoho Campaignsis the company's go-to application for email marketing. "Zoho Campaigns is user-friendly. Its pre-existing templates simplify our work, and segmenting the target audience is straightforward," said Sibanda. "Moreover, its integration with CRM makes it a winning solution."

"In addition to Zoho Campaigns and CRM, Oryx uses Projects, Analytics, SalesIQ, Survey, Social, Sheets, and Sign. Sibanda finds the reports generated in Campaigns particularly useful, as they provide insights into email open rates and bounce rates. The company also uses automation to reduce the administrative workload."

Looking ahead

With a team of 80 people, Oryx prides itself on providing exceptional customer service. "We go above and beyond to meet customer demands," said Sibanda. After the company completes an installation, Zoho helps the team maintain regular follow-up communications.

"We've experienced significant growth, especially since 2020. People spent more time at home during the pandemic and invested in redesigning their living spaces. The booming property market in the UAE has also contributed to our growth. Many individuals are buying homes and seeking renovations. With Zoho's support, we aspire to expand into other markets in the near future."

As Oryx continues to expand its customer base across the region, Sibanda expects the company to explore additional Zoho solutions and customize their implementation to support further growth.
