How to setup SPF and DKIM TXT records for your domain

At Zoho Campaigns, we strongly urge you to authenticate your domain by implementing SPF and DKIM. To successfully authenticate your sender domain, you need to set up your SPF and DKIM TXT records. Authenticating your sender domain is a simple process that involves four easy steps.
  1. Add your sender domain.
  2. Copy the SPF and DKIM TXT records from your Zoho Campaigns account.
  3. Add the SPF and DKIM TXT records to the DNS server.
  4. Verify your domain in your Zoho Campaigns account after adding the SPF and DKIM TXT records to the DNS server.

Add your sender domain 

  1. Log in to your Zoho Campaigns account.
  2. From the navigation toolbar, choose Settings .
  3. Select Manage Senders under Deliverability. 

  4. Click the  Add Sender button on the top-right corner of the screen.
  5. You can enter up to 5 sender email addresses if you want.  
  6. Click the  Send Verification Email button to receive verification emails at the email address you have provided.
  7. To verify your email addresses, log in to your email client and open the verification email sent by Zoho Campaigns.
  8. Click the Verify your email address button in the email to complete the verification process.
  9. Once verified, you will find your sender address (Example: patricia.b@zylker.com ) listed under the Sender Address tab and the domain (zylker.com) listed under the Domain Authentication tab.
Note : If you have not received the verification email, please check all the folders/filters in your email client. If you still don't find them, please contact  support@zohocampaigns.com .

Copy SPF and DKIM record values from Zoho Campaigns 

Only the organization's admin has the privilege to access domain authentication settings. You can contact your organization's admin and ask them to help you authenticate your sender domain.
  1. From the navigation toolbar, choose Settings .
  2. Select Domain Authentication under Deliverability. 

  3. Click Setup on the extreme right of the row.
  4. On the Setup page, click the  Copy button next to the text records.
After copying the SPF and DKIM record values, you can go to your domain hosting website and paste in the copied record values. We've provided the steps of the most popular domain-hosting websites below. However, if you don't find your website in the list, please contact your domain-hosting website's administrator to help you set up the text records. Alternatively, you can also contact your system admin/network admin to configure the TXT records in the DNS settings of your domain.

GoDaddy

To add the SPF record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account and navigate to Domain Control Center .
  2. Select your domain to access the Domain Settings page.
  3. Under Additional Settings, select Manage DNS .
  4. Select Add under the records table.
  5. Under Type, select TXT .
  6. Enter the following information: 
    - Type : Select TXT as the type of record to be added. 
    - Host : Enter " @ ". 
    - TXT Value : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. 
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information. 
          Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com ~all
  7. Click Save
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Locate the record you added and click Edit .
  2. To the existing record details, add "include:zcsend.net" after " v=spf1 ". (Example: v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:spf.zylker.com ~all)
  3. Click Save .

If you are using Zoho Campaigns from the regions below, add the respective TXT value instead of include:zcsend.net.

  1. EU region - include:eu.zcsend.net
  2. India - include:zcsend.in
  3. China - include:zcsend.net.cn
To add the DKIM record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account and navigate to Domain Control Center .
  2. Select your domain to access the Domain Settings page.
  3. Under Additional Settings, select Manage DNS .
  4. Select Add under the records table.
  5. Under Type, select TXT .
  6. Enter the following information:
    1. Type : Select TXT as the type of record to be added.
    2. Host : Enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. (Example:"2232._domainkey")
    3. TXT Value : Paste the DKIM TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen of your Zoho Campaigns account.
    4. TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.
      7. Click Save .


Note :

  1. If your DNS has already mentioned the domain name, enter the domain key alone in the Host Name field.  
  2. If your sub domain is mail.zylker.com, the domain key should be "2232._domainkey.mail"
Verify the sender domain
After the SPF and DKIM records for your domain have been added to the DNS servers, follow these steps to verify your domain:
  1. From the navigation toolbar, choose Settings and select Domain Authentication .
  2. Click the  Setup button on the far right corner of your domain.
  3. Click Verify Domain .
  4. If the records are not published in the DNS, you can check the reason and how to fix it on the same screen.

HostGator

To add the SPF record for your domain in HostGator, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your HostGator account.
  2. Navigate to the control panel and search for your domain name.
  3. From the navigation toolbar, choose Manage Orders and click List/Search Orders .
  4. Click on your domain from the list displayed.
  5. Under the DNS Management section, click the  Manage DNS link.
  6. First click the  TXT Records button to add the SPF record and then click the  Add TXT Record button below it.
  7. Enter the following information: 
    - Host Name : Enter "@" 
    - Value : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. 
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information. The ideal TTL is 86400 (1 day). It can not be set to less than 14400 (4 hours). 
  8. Click Add Record.  Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com ~all
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Locate the record you added and click the Modify Record button.
  2. To the existing record details, add your sender domain after " v=spf1 ". (Example: include:zcsend.net)
  3. Click Modify Record .
If you are using Zoho Campaigns from the regions below, add the respective TXT value instead of "include:zcsend.net".
  1. EU region - include:eu.zcsend.net
  2. India - include:zcsend.in
  3. China - include:zcsend.net.cn

To add the DKIM record for your domain in HostGator, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your HostGator account.
  2. From the Navigation toolbar, choose Manage Orders and click List/Search Orders .

  5. First click the  TXT Records button to add the DKIM TXT record and then click the  Add TXT Record button displayed below it.
  6. Enter the following information:

    - Value : Paste the DKIM TXT record displayed on the SPF/DKIM Setup screen of your Zoho Campaigns account.
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information. The ideal TTL is 86400 (1 day). It can't be set to less than 14400 (4 hours).
  7.  Click Add Record .

Namecheap

To add the SPF record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your Namecheap account.
  2. Click Domain List on the left pane.
  3. Click the Manage button next to your domain.
  4.  Under the Advanced DNS tab, click the Add New Record button.
  5. Enter the SPF and DKIM TXT records provided by Zoho Campaigns.
    1. Type : Select TXT as the type of record you want to add.
    2. Host : Enter" @ ".
    3. Value: Paste the SPF TXT record displayed on the SPF/DKIM Setup screen.  
    4. TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.             
      6. Click the Save all changes button. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Locate the record you added and click the Edit icon.
  2. To the existing record details, add "include:zcsend.net" after " v=spf1 ". (Example: v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:spf.zylker.com ~all)
  3. Click Update .

If you are using Zoho Campaigns from the regions below, add the respective TXT value instead of include:zcsend.net.

  1. EU region - include:eu.zcsend.net
  2. India - include:zcsend.in
  3. China - include:zcsend.net.cn

Verify the sender domain
After the SPF and DKIM records for your domain have been added to the DNS servers, follow these steps to verify your domain:
  1. From the navigation toolbar, choose Settings and select Domain Authentication .
  2. Click the  Setup button on the far-right corner of your domain.
  3. Click Verify Domain .
  4. If the records are not published in the DNS, you can check the reason and how to fix it on the same screen.

BlueHost

To add the SPF TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your BlueHost account.
  2. Go to the Domains menu at the top and click the  Zone Editor submenu.
  3. Select your domain name from the drop-down.
  4. To add a new SPF record, enter this information under Add DNS Record at the top of the Zone Editor : 
    - Type : TXT
    - Name : Enter the domain name
    - TXT : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information
  5. Click Add Record Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Locate the record you added and click the Modify Record button.

To add the DKIM TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your BlueHost account.
  2. Go to the Domains menu at the top and click the  Zone Editor submenu.
  3. Select your domain name from the drop-down.
  4. To add a new DKIM record, enter this information under Add DNS Record at the top of the Zone Editor :
    - Type : TXT.
    - Name : Enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. (Example:2232._domainkey)
    - TXT Value : Paste the DKIM TXT record displayed on the SPF/DKIM Setup screen of your Zoho Campaigns account.
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information
  5. Click Add Record.
Note :
  1. If your DNS has already mentioned the domain name, enter the domain key alone in the Host Name field.
  2. If your sub domain is mail.zylker.com, the domain key should be "2232._domainkey.mail"

Verify the sender domain
After the SPF and DKIM records for your domain have been added to the DNS servers, follow these steps to verify your domain:
  1. From the navigation toolbar, choose Settings and select Domain Authentication .
  2. Click the  Setup button on the far-right corner of your domain.
  3. Click Verify Domain .
  4. If the records are not published in the DNS, you can check the reason and how to fix it on the same screen.

Network Solutions

To add the SPF TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your Network Solutions account.
  2. Click Manage Account on the top-right corner of the page.
  3. Under My Domain Names, click the  Edit DNS link.
  4. From the list of domains displayed, select the domain for which you want to add the record and click the  Edit DNS button.
  5. Under the Advanced DNS Manager section, click the  Manage Advanced DNS Records button.
  6. Scroll down. Under the Text (Text Records) section, click the  Edit TXT Records button.
  7. Enter the following information:
    - Host : Enter the domain name.
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.
    - Text : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  8. Click Continue to confirm.
  9. Finally, click Save Changes .
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Select the domain and click the Edit DNS button.

  2. Click Manage Account on the top-right corner of the page.
  3. Under My Domain Names, click Edit DNS link.
  4. From the list of domains displayed, select the domain for which you want to add the record and click the  Edit DNS button.
  5. Under the Advanced DNS Manager section, click the  Manage Advanced DNS Records button.
  6. Scroll down. Under the Text (Text Records) section, click the  Edit TXT Records button.
  7. Enter the following information:
    - Host : Enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. (Example: 2232._domainkey)

    - TXT Record : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  7. Click the Continue button to confirm.
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Select the domain and click the Manage link.

  1. Log in to your Eurodns account.
  2. From the navigation toolbar, go to Domain Names>Active .
  3. Locate the domain you want to manage and click Manage .
  4. Under the DNS Zone section, click Manage Zone .
  5. Click the  New Record button at the bottom of the page.
  6. Enter the following details:
    - Type : Select TXT(Text).
    - TXT : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen.
    - Host : Enter " @ ".
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  7. Click Save Record .
  8. Finally, click Save Zone to confirm.
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Select the domain and click Manage .
  2. Under DNS Zone, click Manage Zone .
  3. Locate the record and click the  Edit icon.
  4. To the existing record details, add "include:zcsend.net" after " v=spf1 ". (Example: v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:spf.zylker.com ~all)
  5. Click Save Record and then click Save Zone to confirm.

To add the DKIM TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your Eurodns account.
  2. From the navigation toolbar, choose Domain Names .
  3. Locate the domain you want to manage and click Manage .
  4. Under the DNS Zone section, click Manage Zone .
  5. Click the  New Record button at the bottom of the page.
  6. Enter the following details:
    - Type : Select TXT(Text)
    - TXT : Paste the DKIM TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen of your Zoho Campaigns account.
    - Host : Enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. (Example: 2232._domainkey)
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.
  7. Click Save Record .
  8. Finally, click Save Zone to confirm.
Note :
  1. If your DNS has already mentioned the domain name, enter the domain key alone in the Host Name field.  
  2. If your sub domain is mail.zylker.com, the domain key should be "2232._domainkey.mail"

Squarespace

To add the SPF TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Squarespace account.
  2. Open Advanced DNS Settings for the domain.
  3. Scroll down to Custom Records .
  4. In the Record field of a blank row, select TXT from the drop-down.
  5. Enter " @ " in the Host field.
  6. Leave the Priority field blank.Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen.
  7. Click Add to save the SPF record.
Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Locate the record you added.
  2. To the existing record details, add "include:zcsend.net" after " v=spf1 ". (Example: v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:spf.zylker.com ~all)
  3. Click ADD and then click Save to confirm.
If you are using Zoho Campaigns from the regions below, add the respective TXT value instead of include:zcsend.net.

  3. China - include:zcsend.net.cn
To add the DKIM record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your Squarespace account.
  2. Open Advanced DNS Settings for the domain.
  3. Scroll down to Custom Records .
  4. In the Record field of a blank row, select TXT from the drop-down.
  5. In the Host field, enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen.  (Example: 2232._domainkey)
  6. Leave the Priority field blank.
  7. Copy the DKIM TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen in your Zoho Campaigns account. Paste it in the Data field.
  8. Click Add to save the DKIM record.
Note :

To add the SPF TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your eNom account.
  2. From the navigation toolbar, choose Domains and click My Domains .
  3. Click Add SRV or SPF record .
  4. Choose Add a SPF Record from the drop-down list.
  5. Enter the following information:
    - Host Name: Enter "@".
    - TXT value: Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen.
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  6.  Click Save .
Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,
  1. Locate the record you added and click Edit SPF Text .
  2. To the existing SPF Text String, add "include:zcsend.net" after " v=spf1 ". (Example: v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:spf.zylker.com ~all)
  3. Click Save to confirm.
If you are using Zoho Campaigns from the regions below, add the respective TXT value instead of "include:zcsend.net".

To add the DKIM TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your eNom account.
  2. From the navigation toolbar, choose Domains and click My Domains .
  3. Click Add TXT record.
  4. Choose Add DKIM Record from the drop-down list.
  5. Enter the following information:
    - Host Name : Enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. (Example: 2232._domainkey)
    - TXT value : Paste the DKIM TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen of your Zoho Campaigns account.
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.
  6. Click Save.

Wix

To add the SPF TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Wix account
  2. Navigate to the  Domains page .
  3. Click the  Show More icon next to the relevant domain and select Manage DNS Records .
  4. Click + Add Record in the TXT (Text) section.
    Enter the following information:
    - Host Name : Enter "@".
    - SPF Value : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen.
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.
  5. Click Save.
In the Card View, click Manage on the domain for which you are updating the SPF record.

Note : A sender domain can have only one SPF TXT record. We recommend not to add a new record if you already have one. If you have an existing SPF TXT record,

  1. Under your domain name, select Advanced and click Edit DNS .
  2. To the existing SPF Value, add "include:zcsend.net" after " v=spf1 ". (Example: v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:spf.zylker.com ~all)
  3. Click Save DNS to confirm.
If you are using Zoho Campaigns from the regions below, add the respective TXT value instead of "include:zcsend.net".
  1. EU region - include:eu.zcsend.net
  2. India - include:zcsend.in
  3. China - include:zcsend.net.cn
To add the DKIM TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your Wix account.
  2. Navigate to the Domains page.
  3. Click the  Show More icon next to the relevant domain and select Manage DNS records.
  4. Scroll down to the TXT (Text) section and click Add Record
  5. Enter the following information:
    - Host Name : Enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. (Example: 2232._domainkey)
    - TXT Value : Paste the DKIM TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen of your Zoho Campaigns account.
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.
  6. Click Save .
Note :
  1. If your DNS has already mentioned the domain name, enter the domain key alone in the Host Name field.
  2. If your sub domain is mail.zylker.com, the domain key should be "2232._domainkey.mail"

Verify the sender domain

After the SPF and DKIM records for your domain have been added to the DNS servers, follow these steps to verify your domain:

  1. From the navigation toolbar, choose Settings and select Domain Authentication .
  2. Click the  Setup button on the far-right corner of your domain.
  3. Click Verify Domain .
  4. If the records are not published in the DNS, you can check the reason and how to fix it on the same screen.

WordPress

To add the SPF record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your WordPress account.
  2. From the navigation toolbar, click My Site .
  3. Under the Manage section, click Domains .
  4. Click the domain for which you want to add the text record.
  5. Scroll down and click the  Name Servers and DNS link.
  6. Click DNS Records to add new TXT records.
  7. Enter the following information:
    - Type : Select TXT as type of record to add.
    - Name : Enter the domain name.
    - Text : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  8. Click Add New DNS Record . 
To add the DKIM TXT record for your domain, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your WordPress account.
  2. From the navigation toolbar, click My Site .
  3. Under the Manage section, click Domains .
  4. Click the domain for which you want to add the text record.
  5. Scroll down and click Name Servers and DNS link.
  6. Click DNS Records to add new text records.
  7. Enter the following information:
    1. Type : Select TXT as type of record to add.
    2. Name : Enter the DKIM host name displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. (Example: 2232._domainkey)

  3.  In the list view, click the Settings icon.
  4. Click DNS & Nameservers in the left pane.
  5. Click DNS Records in the DNS & NAMESERVERS page.
  6. Click Add DNS Record to add a new SPF record.
  7. Enter the following information:
    - Name : Enter "@".
    - TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information.
    - Type : TXT
    - TXT Value : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  8. Click Add Record.

  2. Under Action, select Edit .

    - Type : TXT
    - TXT Value : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  6. Click Add Record .

    - TXT Value : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen. Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all
  6. Click Add Record .

  1. Log in to your Cloudflare account.
  2. Click the appropriate Cloudflare account for the domain where you will add records
  3. Click DNS app.
  4. Click Add record .
  5. Enter the following information:
    1. Type : TXT.
    2. Name : Enter "@".
    3. IPv4 address : Paste the SPF TXT record displayed in the SPF/DKIM Setup screen.
    4. TTL : Enter how long the server should take to cache the information
      6. Click Save .


Example : v=spf1 include:zcsend.net include:sender.zohobooks.com~ all

Public Domains

SPF and DKIM records cannot be setup for public domains. This is because you can only own a mailbox using a public domain to send and receive emails but you cannot be the owner of the domain. Only the owners of domains have the privilege to setup TXT records. The various public domains are gmail, yahoo, aol, hotmail, msn, live, comcast, roadrunner, etc.
